The Work of Reparation
“Thus I have searched among them for someone who would build a wall or stand in the breach before me to keep me from destroying the land.” Ezekiel 22:30

The Devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus

What is a Work of Reparation?
The world is disfigured by sin. The image of Christ’s face in the Veil of Veronica profoundly illustrates man’s response to God’s saving work. Instead of running to God for forgiveness and healing, the world tortured, mocked, abused, and put our Lord to death. These offenses against the Holy Face of Jesus continue into this present day, in particular though sins against the first three commandments against idolatry, blasphemy, and profanation of the Holy Day.
And yet, Christ persists in His saving work and invites us to join Him in this work of love. He came not to condemn sinners, but to save them. To be their healer, not their executioner. The great work of the Devotion of the Holy Face of Jesus is to ask God’s pardon for sinners, to adore His face as a reparation for all the times He has been rejected and despised, so that a great multitude of sinners can be saved.

I want to help save sinners, but how?
The Devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus was revealed to Sr. Marie de St. Pierre as an answer to the world’s rejection of Christ. By joining the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face, you become a part of an army of prayer warriors who beseech God for His mercy towards sinners. By adoring Christ’s Holy Face in the Veil of Veronica, we make reparations to pay the debts owed God by those who sin against the first three commandments, so that more will be saved. In one of Christ’s promises to Sr. Marie de St. Pierre, Jesus said, “You will obtain from my Holy Face the salvation of a multitude of sinners.”
By my Holy Face you shall work miracles.
